About Us
The Ohio Interprofessional Consortium (OIC) is a non-profit organization that is comprised of a group of health profession educators who work together to advance interprofessional and interdisciplinary education and collaboration. The consortium runs under the direction of a Board of Directors. Members of the consortium benefit from networking, shared opportunities, and shared resources.

History
The idea of an Ohio Interprofessional Consortium (OIC) came to the surface in June 2021. An initial meeting to explore the idea was held in August 2021 with representatives from the Northeast Ohio Medical University, Case Western Reserve University, Kent State University, and The Ohio State University. This small group brainstormed what this organization could be and expanded with additional representatives from the University of Toledo and the University of Cincinnati in late 2022 / early 2023. With the added geographical reach, the group worked to have its first annual Ohio Interprofessional Consortium Meeting in June 2023. Throughout the year following the meeting, the Board of Directors grew to its current size. This group began the work of submitting the information required to become a non-profit organization. This status was officially granted on January 22, 2024. Through this process we developed our purpose and code of regulations. In June of 2024, the group held its second annual Ohio Interprofessional Consortium Meeting. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the Board of Directors is focused on developing a website and logo, expanding membership, and developing a strategic plan.
